Haus is an independent café and bar on the prestigious Penrhyn Road. We serve the perfect breakfast, brunch and lunch that is homemade and freshly prepared for each order. We appreciate the great coffee, which is supplied by “Neighbourhood Coffee”, a great selection of teas from Brew Tea & Co and Harry’s Hot Chocolate, and alternative milk. We aim to offer a friendly and cosy environment for you to enjoy your food and drinks. If you fancy tea or coffee with a sweet treat, we offer a great selection of cakes and homemade brownies (including Gluten Free and Vegan cakes)……... And for those of you in a hurry, takeout is available too!
Chris & Marita
Gail Jones, who fulfilled a vision of owning her own café/bar, founded Haus in 2018. Chris and Marita have now taken over this unique café/bar. After travelling around the world, Chris and Marita lived in Ireland for over 12 years and worked in prestigious Hotels and Restaurants around the country.
Chris is a local Welsh man from the market town of Llanrwst on the edge of Snowdonia in beautiful North Wales. Chris has had a passion for food and produces from his younger years working on the Family Farm. This passion has been strengthened over the years due to his travelling worldwide, from Asia, New Zealand, and Australia, to the Old Rectory in Glan Conwy. He has the gift of having an amazing pallet, which enables him to create and marry unique dishes together.
Marita was born and raised in Germany and is the face of Haus. Marita trained in Germany and gained a degree in Restaurant/Hospitality Management. After living and working in Switzerland for several years and gaining more experience in hotels and restaurants, she moved to Ireland. During this time, Marita worked her way up to Restaurant Manager in the highly regarded and considered one of the best restaurants in Dublin, Thornton’s Restaurant. Marita is most vibrant when working in a busy environment, ensuring that her customers receive a warm welcome and have a relaxed time. Knowing that she is serving her customers food of a very high standard and flavour ensures you will have a wonderful experience at Haus.
